Unfortunately, not all fish oil manufacturers follow our high quality and purity standards and go "cheap" on sourcing their ingredients, especially those mass produced and found off-the-shelf in a drugstore. To that point, we are very proud of our NEW Wild Red Fish Oil, and chose the Theragra Chalcogramma fish as our fish oil source for many important reasons.
ASTAXANTHIN, which is naturally occurring in this type of fish, is responsible for the natural “wild red” color of the oil. In clinical studies, Astaxanthin is a strong antioxidant which attenuates oxidative stress and inflammation, important pathophysiological mechanisms in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease as well as other inflammatory diseases.
Wild Red Fish Oil is also naturally rich in C16:1 OMEGA-7 fats which allows us to make a label claim of 220mg Omega-7 with similar concentration of Sea Buckhorn oil or Macadamia nut oil.
The Max TOTOX level is <5, which allows the oil to have exceptional fresh odor and flavor (no fishy taste or smell). Less than 1 Max Peroxide values which demonstrate a high quality manufacturing system to limit any and all oxidation in the manufacturing process. The shelf life/stability with these key manufacturing processes demonstrate a long-term stability and shelf life of 3 years plus.
CONCERN FOR TOXINS:
The average age of the fish is 3 to 5 years old and is generally 300-600gms in weight, thus reducing the bio-accumulation of heavy metals and toxins.
By utilizing MSC certified fishery our source has a less than 1% by-catch. This is a claim that no other large commercial fishery in the world can make.
